As the old adage goes, "If you ship a feature but no customer hears about it...did the feature really ship?"
At Makelog, we're on a mission to help companies better communicate product changes to their customers and internal stakeholders. Today, sharing what ships is incredibly inefficient, time-consuming, and tedious - especially for the fastest moving teams.
We're looking for highly skilled engineers to help change the way companies fundamentally communicate constant changes! In this role, you'll be driving the development of new products and features that all of our users will see, helping us shape the product vision and roadmap, and defining early best practices for release communication in a CI/CD paradigm.
This is an Individual Contributor position with plenty of potential to grow into a management role as we scale.
As Product Engineer you will:
Learn about user problems, find solutions, and help bring them to life
Help define our core frontend systems and overall frontend architecture
Set our current and future teammates up for success by writing maintainable, clear, well-architected code, tests, and documentation
Integrate with our backend services and APIs
Lead engineering discussions internally and externally
Participate in design and code reviews to ensure quality and good architecture
What you bring:
Experience working with modern Javascript frameworks like React, Vue
An intuition for well designed software and and beautiful, usable interfaces
Intrinsic curiosity and motivation to solve difficult problems
Ability to prioritize in a chaotic/ambiguous environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
An open and growth mindset when giving and receiving feedback
You’ll be a great fit if you:
Have several years of experience working in a frontend or product engineering role
Like to work closely with customers to build features and solve problems
Can balance moving fast with doing things "right"
Enjoy building UIs with modern tooling
Have a good understanding of current and emerging trends in web application development
Pride yourself in your excellent attention to detail and your design/UX sensibilities
Benefits
Work remotely from anywhere
Competitive compensation, benefits, and meaningful equity
Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and their dependents
Generous PTO policy and mental health days
Learning and Development stipend
The opportunity to build something that redefines the status quo of how product updates are compiled, curated, and distributed
About us
We are building a movement to fundamentally reimagine how companies communicate product changes.
We're backed by a tier 1 VC firm (soon to be announced!), as well as operator angels who've experienced this problem, including founders like Calvin French-Owen (Segment), Ilya Volodarsky (Segment), Ian Storm Taylor (Segment), Jeff Arnold (Pilot), Christine Yen (Honeycomb), and more.
Joining Makelog means joining a fast-moving early stage startup at the ground level, where you'll have massive impact in shaping how every company shares what ships.
